Johnson County, Wyoming

map of wyoming in 1892

The Hole-In-The-Wall is a narrow gap in red stone cliffs. The "hole" was the only way, from the East, to access a fertile valley. The Hole-In-The-Wall Gang (~1880-1900) used the valley as a corral for rustled cattle and as a hangout.
